John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has declared that he will only accept the election results if the process is transparent and credible ahead of the general election on December 7.
Mahama voiced doubts about the voting process’s fairness in an exclusive interview with the BBC. He also made it clear that he would not accept the results if there were any irregularities or violence during the poll.
He emphasized how vital it is to hold a free and fair election, pointing out that the integrity of the procedure is essential to the nation’s democracy.
“If on the election day, there is widespread ballot snatching, beating of people and the military moving in and intimidating people and thugs are all over the place, rampaging the place, you want me to accept that result? It will depend on the transparency and the fairness of the process,” he stated.
