Ekuzoa Sporting Academy midfielder Obed Oduro has been named in the Western Region’s 20-man squad for the second edition of the MTN Elite U-19 Championship.
The talented midfielder has earned regional recognition after an impressive 2025/26 campaign with the Baku-based club in the Western Regional Football Association (WRFA) Division Two League.
Oduro was a key component of the Dadeɛ ɛnzulo senle setup during the season, registering two goals and two assists in eight appearances.
His performances, marked by energy, composure and technical intelligence in midfield, have earned him a place among the Western Region’s brightest young talents for the prestigious youth competition.
Western Region will begin their campaign on Wednesday, August 26, at 14:00 GMT, when they take on Eastern Region at the FIFA Pitch of the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
Oduro will be hoping to carry his club form into the tournament as Western Region seek a strong start to their campaign.
The MTN Elite U-19 Championship provides an important platform for Ghana’s emerging talents to compete at a high level while attracting the attention of scouts, coaches and other stakeholders in the football ecosystem.
The 16-year old’s inclusion further underlines the club’s growing influence in youth development and its commitment to nurturing promising footballers in the Western Region.
