As Muslims celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, President John Dramani Mahama has urged Ghanaians to show compassion and assistance to those in need.
Speaking during the National Chief Imam’s Eid-ul-Fitr celebration in Accra’s Black Star Square, he emphasized the importance of empathy and solidarity, especially with regard to the less fortunate.
The President reminded the audience that Eid-ul-Fitr is a chance to show kindness in addition to being a season of joy and gratitude.
He urged Muslims and other Ghanaians to share their blessings with those in need and to keep in mind those who are enduring poverty, illness, and other adversities.
“As we mark the end of Ramadan, let us not forget the vulnerable in our communities. This is a time for reflection, kindness, and support. We must look out for those who are struggling and extend a helping hand,” President Mahama stated.
He further called on religious and community leaders to lead by example in fostering a culture of care and social responsibility.
“The true essence of this celebration lies in our ability to uplift one another. Let us use this occasion to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and ensure that no one is left behind,” he added.
