DVLA to Enhance Accessibility With 24-Hour Services Across Greater Accra And Regional Offices in 2026

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has announced plans to boost 24-hour operations to its regional offices, as well as its offices across Greater Accra, starting in 2026.

The move aims to make vehicle registration and driver licensing services more accessible to the public outside regular working hours.

This extension follows the successful pilot at the Adentan office, which earlier this year began round-the-clock service, easing long queues and reducing waiting times for customers. DVLA noted that the initiative will help commuters, commercial drivers, and vehicle owners access essential services at their convenience, particularly for urgent transactions.

However, DVLA indicated that the regional offices in Oti, Savannah, and North East Regions will not be part of the 24-hour rollout due to logistical constraints.

The Authority said the move aligns with the government’s broader push to develop a 24-hour economy and improve public service efficiency. DVLA is calling on the public to cooperate with staff to ensure smooth operations during the extended hours.

Officials believe the initiative could significantly reduce daytime congestion at DVLA offices and improve overall service delivery across the country.
