Dr C.C. Blay Urges Aspirants, Delegates to Uphold Peace, Unity and Fairness in Party Elections

Dr Clement Clinton Blay has urged aspirants, delegates and party faithful to uphold peace, transparency, fairness and mutual respect as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) prepares for its 2026 Ellembelle Constituency Elections.

The highly anticipated internal electoral exercise is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, 2026, at the AAK III Sports Arena in Ampain, where delegates will participate in the selection of constituency-level party leadership.

In a goodwill message ahead of the elections, Dr C.C. Blay emphasised the imperative of safeguarding internal cohesion and ensuring that the contest unfolds in an atmosphere of tranquillity, transparency and democratic integrity.

He entreated all aspirants and delegates to demonstrate political maturity, magnanimity and a heightened sense of responsibility, cautioning against allowing personal ambitions to supersede the collective interests of the party.

Dr Blay further highlighted the indispensability of mutual respect and equitable participation, maintaining that a credible electoral process requires contenders and their supporters to uphold democratic conventions and eschew actions capable of fomenting discord.

According to him, preserving party unity is crucial to strengthening the NDC’s organisational structures and consolidating its collective aspirations, particularly at the constituency level.

He stressed that the outcome of the elections should not undermine the bonds of solidarity among party members, urging all participants to exercise restraint, tolerance and sportsmanship throughout the process.

“I wish all aspirants, delegates, and party members well. May this important democratic exercise be peaceful, transparent, and guided by mutual respect, Unity, Peace and Fairness, and our collective commitment to the progress of our party and Ghana at large,” Dr Blay stated.

His message constitutes a clarion call for responsible political engagement, encouraging party faithful to approach the electoral contest with sobriety and an unwavering commitment to the principles of internal democracy.

As the Ellembelle NDC prepares for Saturday’s exercise at the AAK III Sports Arena in Ampain, Dr Blay’s appeal reinforces the need for a peaceful and transparent process that consolidates party solidarity rather than engendering factional divisions.

Ultimately, his message places the collective advancement of the party and Ghana’s democratic development above individual aspirations, emphasising that unity, fairness and mutual respect should remain the guiding principles throughout the electoral exercise.
