Ngalekyi/Baku Junior High School has received a GH¢1,000 cash donation from Dr. Clement Clinton Blay, Chief Executive Officer of the C.C. Blay Foundation, following the school’s outstanding victory in the 3rd Edition of the Ellembelle District Science and Mathematics Quiz (DSMQ) 2026, organised by the Ghana Education Service (GES) STEM Department.
The prestigious competition was held at the Yinson Hall of Nkroful Agriculture Senior High School (NASS), bringing together some of the finest junior high schools across the Ellembelle District for a keenly contested battle of knowledge, skill and academic excellence.
Ngalekyi/Baku JHS emerged champions after overcoming stiff competition from Kamgbunli Islamic JHS, Nyaneba Model JHS and Kikam SDA JHS in a thrilling contest that tested the students’ mastery of science and mathematics.
A proud alumnus of Ngalekyi/Baku JHS, Dr. Clement Clinton Blay presented the GH¢1,000 cash reward to congratulate the students and teachers for their exceptional achievement while encouraging them to continue striving for academic excellence.
He commended the contestants for their resilience, discipline and impressive display of brilliance throughout the competition, describing their success as a remarkable milestone for the school and a source of pride for the entire Ngalekyi/Baku community.
Dr. Blay further urged the students to remain focused on their studies, emphasising that excellence in science and mathematics is crucial to Ghana’s technological advancement and future development.
As champions of the 2026 Ellembelle DSMQ, Ngalekyi/Baku JHS also received an impressive first-place prize package sponsored by Ghana Gas Company. The package included a GH¢2,000 cash prize, a customised plaque, a printer, six medals, three student mattresses, three chop boxes, textbooks and customised exercise books.
