Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former Vice President of Ghana and 2024 presidential candidate visited the families of the late Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Member Of Parliament for Tamale Central and Minister of Environment-Science and Technology. He also visited the homes of the late Alhaji Limuma Muniru Mohammed (Deputy National Security Coordinator), Squadron Leader Peter Anala and subsequently laid a wreath in honor of the fallen heroes at the Jubilee House.

He was received at the Jubilee House by Chief of Staff Julius Debrah and other key government officials during a solemn wreath-laying ceremony held in honor of the fallen Icons. Dr. Bawumia’s visit reflected a shared sense of national mourning and unity as the country comes to terms with the loss.

With dignity and empathy, Dr. Bawumia expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and to the Ghana Armed Forces. He praised the bravery of the officers who perished, describing them as patriots who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country.

His gesture was a poignant reminder that in moments of national tragedy, political lines give way to collective compassion.

The atmosphere at the Presidency was respectful and somber, as leaders from across the political spectrum joined in remembrance. Dr. Bawumia’s presence was widely seen as a symbol of national solidarity, reinforcing the importance of honoring the service and sacrifice of Ghana’s military personnel, regardless of political affiliation.

As the nation continues to grieve, moments like this bring comfort and a renewed sense of unity. Dr. Bawumia’s tribute at the Jubilee House was more than a ceremonial act—it was a reflection of Ghana’s shared values of respect, honor, and remembrance for those who serve and protect.
