Deloris Frimpong Manso, better known by his stage name Delay, is a media figure who has commented on the controversy regarding the removal of King Paluta’s popular song Makoma from the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) nominees.
On Tuesday, March 18, Delay took to her X page to voice her displeasure over the song’s absence from important categories.
“The reason I never stop praying is precisely because Makoma wasn’t selected. She added, “What is rightfully yours can be taken away before your very eyes if you stop praying.”
Given that many fans think Makoma’s song was one of the year’s biggest hits and merited recognition, her statement has contributed to the expanding online discussion.
In the meantime, King Paluta and his group have started a petition to find out why the song was not taken into consideration for any of the four categories they submitted: “Songwriter of the Year,” “Most Popular Song of the Year,” “Record of the Year,” and “Hiplife Song of the Year.”
They maintain that Makoma was one of the most well-known songs of the reviewed year and that it complied with the moral and ethical standards of the awards program.
