Newly promoted Ghana Premier League side Port City FC have appointed experienced Ghanaian tactician Christopher Ennin as their new head coach ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The former FC Samartex 1996 and Berekum Chelsea boss takes charge of the club as it prepares for its maiden campaign in Ghana’s top flight following a successful promotion season.
Ennin arrives with an impressive coaching pedigree, having established himself as one of the country’s respected tacticians. During his time with Samartex, he played a key role in the club’s growth, while his previous spell at Berekum Chelsea further enhanced his reputation for tactical organisation, player development and team building.
Port City’s decision to appoint Ennin underscores the club’s ambition to build a competitive side capable of making an immediate impact in the Ghana Premier League.
The club officially confirmed the appointment on its social media platforms, welcoming the experienced coach and expressing confidence in his ability to lead the team’s long-term project.
Ennin will immediately begin preparations for the new season, working alongside the club’s technical team to shape the squad ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
His appointment comes at a time when Port City have been active in the transfer market, strengthening their squad with the arrivals of Gideon Waja, Stephen Diyou, Kwabena Adu Meider, Daniel Osei Senior, Francis Gyetuah and Ishak Suraj, while also appointing former Asante Kotoko midfielder Jordan Opoku as assistant coach.
With an experienced technical bench and an increasingly strengthened squad, Port City FC will be aiming to establish themselves in the Ghana Premier League and enjoy a successful debut season.
