Zambia’s Vice President, W.K. Mutale Nalumango, has survived a plane crash in Nakonde, along with seven other occupants, according to reports from local media.

The incident reportedly occurred when the aircraft encountered difficulties while attempting to land in the northern border town of Nakonde. Emergency responders were quickly dispatched to the crash site, where all eight occupants were safely evacuated.

Initial reports indicate that Vice President Nalumango escaped the accident without life-threatening injuries. Some of the other passengers are also reported to have sustained minor injuries, although authorities have not yet released detailed information on their conditions.

The Vice President was said to be travelling on official government business at the time of the incident. However, officials are yet to disclose the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.

The Zambian government has since confirmed that all occupants survived the accident, bringing relief to citizens and government officials across the country.
