In a bold move to combat illegal mining, the Ellembelle District Chief Executive, Hon. Joseph Agyekum, in collaboration with the District Police Command, has arrested 2 Chinese nationals and 9 individuals posing as National Security operatives.
The suspects were apprehended yesterday at Mile 3 during a swoop by the operation team set up by the DCE.
“We will not tolerate any form of illegal mining in Ellembelle. Our district will be a hub for responsible mining and a no-go area for galamseyers. We will move according to our pace, but assiduously, to curb this 8-year menace without pressure or influence from any quarters”, opines Hon. Joseph Agyekum.
