Bibiani Gold Stars have confirmed the appointment of Petros Koukouras as their new head coach, with the 37-year-old Greek tactician taking over from Swiss trainer Fritz Schmid ahead of the 2026/27 football season.
Koukouras arrives with a wealth of coaching experience, having managed clubs across Africa while establishing himself as one of the continent’s emerging young coaches.
The Greek trainer has previously been in charge of Rwanda Premier League side Kiyovu Sports, Ugandan giants SC Villa Jogoo, and Ghanaian club Pacific Heroes FC. He also served as assistant manager of the South Sudan national team, adding international experience to his coaching credentials.
His appointment represents a significant move by the Bibiani-based club as they prepare for the new campaign, with the management expressing confidence in his ability to lead the team to greater success.
Renowned for his tactical acumen and structured approach to team building, Koukouras is expected to begin work immediately as Gold Stars are set to resume preparations for the upcoming season.
The former Kiyovu Sports and SC Villa coach will now be tasked with building a competitive squad capable of challenging at the highest level in Ghanaian football.
