Berekum Chelsea have appointed experienced Ghanaian coach Kwaku Danso as their new head coach ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season following the departure of Samuel Boadu, who has joined Aduana FC.
The Berekum-based club moved swiftly to secure a replacement for Boadu as they look to maintain stability and build a competitive squad ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Kwaku Danso, who is highly regarded within Ghanaian football circles, brings a wealth of experience and a reputation for tactical discipline, effective player management, and developing young talents.
The former Bechem United coach enjoyed an impressive spell with the Hunters, where he guided the team to several remarkable performances in the Ghana Premier League. His exploits earned him the NASCO Ghana Premier League Coach of the Month award, a recognition of his outstanding contribution on the touchline.
Danso has also played a role in Ghana’s youth football development after serving as head coach of the Ghana U-15 Boys National Team, where he helped identify and nurture emerging talents.
Before taking up the new challenge at Berekum Chelsea, the experienced tactician was in charge of Rainmakers FC, where he continued to implement his philosophy of disciplined, attacking football while building competitive teams.
His appointment comes at a crucial period for the Bibires, who are aiming to strengthen their squad and compete effectively in the Ghana Premier League following the exit of Samuel Boadu.
With preparations for the 2026/27 season underway, Kwaku Danso will be expected to bring his tactical expertise and leadership qualities to bear as Berekum Chelsea seek to return to prominence in Ghana’s top-flight league.
