Basake Holy Stars continued their build-up to the 2025/26 season with a convincing 2–0 victory over Rospak Sporting Club at the Sanzule-Krisan Astro Turf on Wednesday afternoon.
The Nzema-based Premier League outfit looked sharper than their Division One opponents, using the game to gather momentum after a challenging start to pre-season. Holy Stars controlled possession and created the better chances throughout, eventually sealing the result in the second half.
New signing Djocolais Tsokoley broke the deadlock 15 minutes after the restart with a composed finish, before Kojo Mahama doubled the advantage 10 minutes from time to wrap up a solid performance for the top-flight side. For Rospak, the encounter served as a useful test, though they struggled to cope with Holy Stars’ pace and intensity after the break.
The win comes on the back of Holy Stars’ participation in the Nsenkyire Cup at Samreboi, where they narrowly lost 1–0 to FC Samartex 1996 before holding Aduana Stars to a 2–2 draw in a fiercely contested clash. Despite an early exit, those games offered valuable lessons and highlighted areas in need of improvement, especially in converting chances into goals.
As pre-season progresses, Holy Stars appear to be finding the right balance between testing themselves against strong opposition and fine-tuning their squad. Their latest victory showed clear signs of progress, leaving fans optimistic that the team can carry this momentum into the new Ghana Premier League campaign.
