Basake Holy Stars are looking good ahead of the second round of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.

The Green and Blacks have been engaged in a number of friendly matches in the last couple of days as part of preparations for their upcoming encounters.

Yesterday, Basake Holy Stars locked horns with the Timber Giants in a club friendly played at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park.

With good performance from both sides in the first half, Samartex 1996 drew first blood from a breathtaking free kick goal from Emmanuel Keyekeh which made the difference between the two sides.

However, after the break, Basake Holy Stars played better than their opponent and managed to score to condemn the Ghana Premier League leaders to a 2-1 defeat.

Francis Asante scored the equalizer with just few minutes from recess after a howler from Samartex goalkeeper Kofi Baah.

Black Satellites’ attacker Abdul Hussein Bashiru added the icing to the cake with the match winner.
