Former Medeama Sporting Club attacker, Patrick Akesse Akesse, has resumed training with his hometown-based club, Basake Holy Stars, after a long injury lay-off. The 25-year-old has been sidelined since March 2022 due to a knee injury but is now back on the pitch and fully fit, ready to showcase his talents once again.
Akesse made a significant impact during his time at Nzema Kotoko, where he played a crucial role in their NC Special Cup Tier 2 campaign, helping the club reach the final. Although they narrowly lost to AshGold by a single goal, his performances stood out, earning him numerous MVP awards and making him a fan favorite. His powerful, skillful style of play saw him named “Fabɛwo so Drogba” by sports pundits in Nzemaland, a nod to his strength and prowess on the field.
One of his most memorable performances came when he scored a double hat-trick against Star Madrid at Azuleloanu Park, a feat that garnered global recognition and further solidified his status as a top talent. Akesse’s versatility is another key asset—he is capable of playing both as a winger and an attacking midfielder, in addition to his natural role as a forward. His well-rounded game and attacking flair made him a standout player hence his move to Medeama, where he played only three matches due to an injury that hampered his progress.
Having represented the Black Galaxies, Akesse’s potential has always been clear, and his return to full fitness will be a boost to any team he plays for. Known for his clinical finishing, powerful shots, and ability to create chances, Akesse is ready to take the field again and show why he remains one of the most exciting and talented players in Ghanaian football.
