The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has upheld the revocation of three mining leases belonging to Adamus Resources Limited.
The affected leases are the Akango, Salman and Nkroful mining leases, which were revoked by the government in April 2026 following investigations that established breaches of Ghana’s mining laws.
The latest decision follows a petition submitted by Adamus Resources Limited to the Lands Minister, seeking a review of the earlier revocation.
However, after a comprehensive assessment of the petition and all relevant matters, the Minister on Monday, August 10, 2026, reaffirmed the revocation with immediate effect.
The decision means Adamus Resources will no longer retain the mineral rights covered by the three affected leases.
Following the decision, the Minister has directed the Minerals Commission to assume administrative oversight of the company and take the necessary steps to facilitate an orderly transition.
The Minerals Commission is also expected to ensure continuity of operations during the transition while addressing the various administrative and operational considerations arising from the revocation.
The government has meanwhile sought to assure employees of Adamus Resources that their jobs will be safeguarded throughout the process.
The Lands Minister stressed that the revocation should not jeopardise the livelihoods of workers associated with the company.
The assurance is aimed at preventing uncertainty among employees as the Minerals Commission takes over administrative oversight and begins implementing the transition arrangements.
The government has maintained that the decision is part of its broader efforts to enforce compliance with Ghana’s mining laws and the conditions under which mineral rights are granted.
While government remains committed to protecting legitimate investments and jobs in the mining industry, it has also emphasised that mining companies must operate within the legal and regulatory framework governing the sector.
The latest development brings the review process initiated by Adamus Resources to a close, with the revocation of the Akango, Salman and Nkroful leases now firmly upheld.
The Minerals Commission is expected to proceed with the necessary administrative measures to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of operations.
