An audio tape of Eunice Jacqueline Buah Asomah-Hinneh, the late CEO of Labianca Company Limited, has been broadcast by broadcaster Adakabre Frimpong Manso for the first three and a half minutes.

The late entrepreneur revealed in the audio, which aired on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, of his episode on Neat FM, how she went from being a lowly pure water seller at the Tema Harbour to becoming a multimillionaire frozen foods importer.

“In 1978, I went to the harbour to sell iced water. You had to work hard since there was nothing like “Slay Queen” in our day and age. I attempted to work to support my lifestyle because I am the kind of person that enjoys living and was born with it.

“After finishing my schooling, I travelled to the dock and worked with traders from places like Nkawkaw, Dunkwa, and Kumasi. Because of my size, I was called ‘Small Girl,'” the woman said.

She mentioned that the only companies bringing frozen meals into the nation at the time were State Fisheries Company and Mankoadze Fisheries Limited.

Madam Asomah-Hinneh claimed that through perseverance, she gained a great deal of knowledge about the industry and eventually got the chance to visit other countries, where she made connections.

“I started having problems a little after I started working. The trials I went through were that I would wake up one day, and I had been handed over to a newspaper to be dealt with. I went through tribulation for 13 years,” she said before Adakabre concluded the tape’s broadcast.

“Sometimes, I was compelled to ask myself whether I should stop the work or continue. But I also realised the business was booming because of the quality of products my suppliers were bringing me,” she added.

Adakabre had previously revealed that he would release a portion of the recording last week.

The recording, according to him, is from an August 2023 interview with Eunice Buah.
According to his account, he was at home on the day in question when Eunice Buah called to ask for a meeting to be held at her house.

When the late businesswoman asked not to bring her car, Adakabre obliged. The Neat FM host says he was taken to Eunice Buah’s bedroom, where she confided in him and related stories for more than an hour. Adakabre says that after the recording, Eunice Buah told him not to play the tape but to save it until after she passed away.

After the businesswoman passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, Adakabre said he wasn’t sure what to do with the audio he had kept since then.

The owner of Labianca Company Limited, a significant importer of frozen food into West Africa, Eunice Jacqueline Buah Asomah-Hinneh, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.
