Several areas of Accra have seen serious flooding as a result of the nearly three-hour downpour, which has disrupted normal operations and traffic.
Peak commuter hours coincided with the rains, which started at around 3 PM, making the effects on locals and drivers even more severe.
The capital is seeing severe flooding in places like Weija, Kaneshie, Adabraka, portions of Tema, Adentan-Dodowa, and others, leaving cars stranded and roads unusable.
Because of the possibility of contamination and the risk of contracting waterborne illnesses, residents in impacted areas are advised to stay indoors and refrain from wading through floodwaters.
