An undertaker who was suspected of murdering a mobile money salesman in the town of Dominase, located in the Mpohor District of the Western Region, passed very tragically.
The undertaker, Joseph Ankomah, also known as Uncle Jay, 30, is alleged to have admitted to killing the 23-year-old mobile money dealer, Diana Mensah.
Abraham Amegavi Amoah, a local assembly member, told Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson, host of Connect FM’s Omanbapa Morning Show, about the event. He said residents of the community were keen to find the deceased mobile money salesman, who had been missing for more than three days.
He adds that the lifeless body of the lady was later spotted at the community center and that led to the burning of the undertaker.
“The deceased who is a mobile money vendor in the community had gone missing for the past three days. All efforts to locate her proved unsuccessful. Early morning yesterday, we woke up to see her lifeless body lying around the community center.
Everyone wanted to know who had left her body there. They soon followed the trail to Joseph Ankoma’s home, where they conducted a comprehensive investigation and discovered artifacts that suggested he was involved in money rituals.
He admitted to killing the mobile money merchant during their interrogation. After the confession, I later learned that he had been burned,” he continued.
According to photos that Connect FM has access to, the suspect was severely abused before being killed by burning.
The remains of the mobile money vendor were placed next to him in a pool of blood before being burned with car tires. The assembly member claims that investigations into the events leading up to the tragedy have been started by the Mpohor District Police Command.
He continues by saying that the suspect’s and victim’s remains have subsequently been placed at the morgue.
