The Electoral Commission (EC) has promised that by today, November 26, all ballots will be distributed to every area of the nation.
The deployment of the biometric verification devices is scheduled for the end of the weekend. Voting papers have been distributed to 13 regions, according to the EC, with Northern, Bono, and Bono East still pending.
During an encounter with the National Elections Security Taskforce, Electoral Commission chair Jean Mensa emphasized the EC’s preparedness for the elections.
“As we speak, all our registers have been prepared, and they have been disseminated across the country. We are also near completion with our ballots for the presidential and parliamentary polls.
“All the ballots, except the Northern, Bono, and Bono East regions, have been disseminated to our police armouries across the country. I am well aware that the ballot papers for these regions will be disseminated to the police armouries this afternoon.”
The head of the National Election Security Taskforce, Dr George Akuffo Dampare, also promised the commitment of the security agencies to ensure a peaceful election
“In our readiness, we want to say that we will protect every Ghanaian and every stakeholder in this election to ensure that the election is executed to the benefit of Ghanaians to ensure peace.”
