Mahama is a failed president; give Bawumia a chance – Akufo-Addo to Ghanaians

President Nana Akufo-Addo has stated that he has tremendous faith in Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, calling him a capable and prepared leader who is ready to lead Ghana to greater success.

The President thinks Dr. Bawumia has the expertise and experience needed to guide the country to new heights. Former President John Dramani Mahama was hailed by President Akufo-Addo as a failed leader who is unworthy of a second chance at the office.

He maintained that Dr. Bawumia’s new leadership will be more beneficial for Ghana than Mahama’s failed previous term.

Citing Dr. Bawumia’s vast expertise in governance and his distinct vision for Ghana’s development, the president urged Ghanaians to back his presidential campaign. He is certain that Dr. Bawumia is the best candidate to carry on the job that the current administration began and to expand on its successes. Akufo-Addo highlighted the Ashanti Region’s crucial role in ensuring the New Patriotic Party (NPP) won the election when addressing a group of professional associations in Kumasi on Sunday, November 24.

He emphasized how crucial the area is to guaranteeing a high voter turnout and mobilizing party support. The president cautioned against making the same mistake that led to the NPP’s downfall in 2008.

In order to secure a resounding win in the 2024 elections, he urged the Ashanti Region’s citizens to completely support Dr. Bawumia. His message was unambiguous: the party’s success depends on unity and support for Dr. Bawumia.

“We have two people who are in the race. One, a failed president and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. There are four other people who have had the blessing of the Almighty and the support of the people of Ghana to become presidents of Ghana.”

“Jerry John Rawlings, John Agyekum Kufuor, John Dramani Mahama, and myself. Of all these, Jerry John Rawlings had a second term, John Agyekum Kufuor had a second term, and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo had a second term.”

“The only one who was not given a second term was John Dramani Mahama and the reason is that he did a poor job,” he insisted.
