Due to inaccurate serial numbers, the Electoral Commission (EC) has declared that all ballots sent to the Volta and Ahafo Regions would be reprinted.
On November 15, at an emergency meeting of the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC), the decision was made.
For these two regions, ballots for the presidency and parliament will be reprinted.
During the IPAC meeting, Samuel Tettey, the Electoral Commission’s Deputy Chairman of Operations, verified the development and clarified that the ballots’ integrity had been impacted by the serialisation mistakes.
“Over the last few weeks, some concerns have been raised with the serialisation of the Ballot Papers for Ahafo and Volta Regions.
“While the printing of the Ballot Papers has gone down very well, the challenge faced by the Commission has been the serialisation of the numbers on the Ballot Papers.
“The Commission has seriously taken action to cure the defects and has deployed teams to the printing house to correct the anomalies.
“The commission has taken a decision to recall the Ballot Papers for Ahafo and the Volta regions. The Commission has decided that the two ballots will now be printed by Bulk and Acts Commercials for presidential and parliamentary.”
