William Essu, the former goalie for Legon Cities, went suddenly at the University of Cape Coast Hospital in the Central Region.

He was twenty-two years old.

Essu was taken to the hospital on Friday and passed away on Saturday night at around seven o’clock.

When he first arrived, doctors put him through a series of tests, but they were unable to identify the reason for his illness. 

After that, he was moved to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital for more testing, but the findings were not definitive.

Essu appeared to be improving on Saturday afternoon and even drank a Malta Guinness.

However, he suffered a relapse later that evening and was pronounced dead by the doctors.
