FC Samartex 1996’s rapidly rising prodigy, Kennedy Sarfo, has earned a richly deserved invitation to the Ghana U-20 national team ahead of the prestigious 2026 WAFU Zone B U-20 Championship.
Black Satellites head coach, Maxwell Konadu, has unveiled a provisional 30-man squad for an intensive screening and preparatory program. The exercise is being conducted in phases, and Sarfo features prominently in the fourth batch, a testament to his steady growth and eye-catching performances in recent months.
The Ellenda-born forward joined FC Samartex 1996 from Ndumsuazo Super Talents ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, impressing the technical handlers during trials with the Timber Giants. His seamless adaptation and rapid development have positioned him as one of the club’s most exciting young assets.

Sarfo’s national call-up follows his exceptional showing in the MTN FA Cup showdown in Sekondi against Eleven Wise, where his flair, intelligent movement, and remarkable composure on the ball left a lasting impression. At only 18, he continues to emerge as a beacon of promise within the Samartex setup.
With this merited recognition on the national stage, Sarfo is expected to approach the screening sessions with unwavering determination as he battles for a place in the final tournament squad.
Players have been directed to report to the GFA’s Technical Centre, the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence, where the technical team is conducting its carefully structured assessment ahead of the championship.
