“I Was Sabotaged by My Assistant”-Bright Lord Ellis Drops Bombshell After Exit from Ebusua Dwarfs

Former Ebusua Dwarfs head coach, Bright Lord Ellis, has finally broken his silence after parting ways with the Cape Coast-based side, revealing that internal sabotage within his own technical bench played a key role in the team’s poor fortunes this season.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Connect 97.1FM, the outspoken tactician made a startling claim that his assistant, Stanley Afadzie, deliberately worked against him during his stay at the club, a situation that, according to him, crippled team unity and performance.

“I was sabotaged by my assistant coach, Stanley Afadzie, at Ebusua Dwarfs, and it’s part of the reasons why results didn’t go well,” Ellis lamented. “I have learnt my lessons with assistant coaches in Ghana here.”

The revelation has sent shockwaves through the local football fraternity, especially among fans of the ‘Mysterious Dwarfs’, who had long been puzzled by the side’s inconsistent form despite showing glimpses of brilliance under Ellis earlier in the campaign.

Reports close to the club hint that tensions between Ellis and his assistant had been simmering for weeks, with growing mistrust and internal divisions gradually spilling onto the pitch. Ellis’ latest disclosure now paints a clearer picture of the behind-the-scenes drama that plagued the team’s progress.

Known for his tactical discipline and forthright approach to management, Bright Lord Ellis expressed deep disappointment over the ordeal but maintained that the experience has offered him an important lesson in leadership and loyalty within the Ghanaian football space.

“In every football setup, unity is everything. When the people around you don’t share the same vision, it becomes difficult to succeed. I’ve learnt my lesson and will move wiser in future,” he noted.

Ellis, who remains a respected figure in the local coaching fraternity, has not disclosed his next move but hinted that he is open to new challenges with clubs that value teamwork and trust.

Meanwhile, the Access Bank Division One League side, Ebusua Dwarfs are reportedly in talks to appoint a new head coach as they seek to stabilize their campaign and restore the club’s proud footballing identity.

Ellis’ explosive remarks have since reignited conversations about professional ethics, loyalty, and the growing challenge of internal politics in Ghanaian football, issues many believe continue to hold back the progress of even the most promising teams.

As at now, the former Basake Holy Stars gaffer’s experience serves as a cautionary tale, that the greatest battles in football aren’t always fought on the pitch, but sometimes within one’s own camp.
