During the interactive session with the health workers, Dr. Afreh emphasized the need for professionalism, urging staff to reset their attitude towards work and avoid absenteeism.
“Let me sound this harshly to you. If you’re in the discharge of your work, you behave unprofessionally, I will sacrifice you to save the rest,” he warned.

Specifically, Dr. Afreh urged the directorate to focus on reducing mortality rates, emphasizing that recording just one mortality in Sunyani West last year should not be seen as a success but rather as a reminder to strive for zero mortality.

Additionally, Dr. Afreh advised the Information Communication Technology at the health directorate to seek technical expertise assistance from him when needed to ensure accurate data results and tackle unearned salary validation.
He also urged the district director to create a peaceful environment among staff for effective production and goal achievement.
Furthermore, he emphasized the need to prioritize Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs) when accessing healthcare and making health facilities more accessible to them.
On the issue of motorbikes, he announced that 60 motorbikes would soon arrive in the region for distribution to health facilities, which would address the challenge faced by Sunyani West staff.
Regarding the office expansion and water supply issues, Dr. Afreh assured that he would engage the Municipal Chief Executive for Sunyani West to initiate plans to resolve the challenges.
