“Enough Is Enough, We Have Taken the Path of Common Sense” – Nana Bonyah Kofi IV

Nana Bonyah Kofi IV, Chief of Basake and former Acting President of the Eastern Nzema Traditional Council, has made a passionate call for peace and unity in the Eastern Nzema area, declaring that the time has come for reconciliation and progress after years of division.

Speaking at a well-attended gathering on Friday, Nana Bonyah Kofi IV proclaimed, “Enough is enough, we have taken the path of common sense.” His statement marked a significant turning point in the longstanding dispute between the Ndweafo Royal Family and Awulae Amihere Kpanyinli III, the former Omanhene of the Eastern Nzema Traditional Council.

The chieftaincy conflict, which has lingered for years, has been a source of tension within the Eastern Nzema Traditional Area, undermining development efforts and eroding investor confidence.

Nana Bonyah Kofi IV lamented that the prolonged dispute had driven away several investors who had expressed interest in undertaking major developmental projects in the Ellembelle District, projects that could have created much-needed employment opportunities for the youth.

“This dispute has done us no good,” Nana Bonyah Kofi IV stressed. “Many investors who came with plans to develop our communities and create jobs left because of the instability. We cannot continue like this. It is time to restore peace and move forward as one people.”

He emphasized that unity and common sense must now guide the people of Ellembelle and the entire Nzema area, reaffirming the commitment of traditional authorities to reconciliation and progress.

Nana Bonyah Kofi IV also called on all factions involved to put the past behind them and work together to rebuild trust, promote peace, and focus on the collective development of the Ellembelle District.

His remarks have been widely welcomed as a bold and unifying message aimed at healing divisions and charting a new course for the traditional area.
