Abronye Arrested: Bono NPP Chairman to be arraigned for offensive conduct

Kwame Baffoe, also known as Abronye, has been taken into custody by the Ghana Police Service on suspicion of engaging in provocative behavior that could lead to a breach of the peace.

The Police stated in a statement released on Monday, September 8, 2025, that the vocal Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had been arrested earlier in the day and was being incarcerated at this time.

“He is currently in custody and will be put before Court,” the statement said.

Even though the police did not specify the exact behavior that led to the arrest, the action was taken at a time when Mr. Baffoe’s controversial remarks in the media and on television broadcasts have garnered a lot of public attention.
