A legal dispute has erupted within the Jomoro Traditional Area as Awulae Dehele Kwasi II has filed a motion at the Regional House of Chiefs in Sekondi seeking to restrain three individuals from installing a new chief at Beyin.
In documents filed under Suit No. P81/2025, the petitioner, represented by lawyer Dr. Yaw Anokye Frimpong, named Awulae Annor Adjaye III, Mark Asmah, and Robert Forjoe as respondents. The motion, filed on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, prays the Judicial Committee to issue an interlocutory injunction preventing the respondents, their agents, or associates from taking any steps to enstool a chief at Beyin or within the Jomoro Traditional Area until a pending petition is fully determined.
The legal notice emphasizes that any attempts to install a chief during the pendency of the petition could undermine traditional and legal processes. The motion will be heard at the Regional House of Chiefs at a date yet to be scheduled.
Copies of the injunction have been served on all three respondents, according to the filing.
