Dr. Nuhu Zakaria has been removed of his responsibilities as the National Ambulance Service’s CEO by President John Dramani Mahama. Although the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has expressed concerns about Dr. Zakaria’s apparent misuse of an academic title, the official reason for his dismissal has not been made public.
GTEC cited a number of people, including Dr. Zakaria, for using titles and unsubstantiated academic credentials that they had not legally obtained. Whether the president’s decision to remove him from office was directly impacted by the GTEC citation is still unknown.
