Ellembelle Youth Development Advocacy (EYDA) to the Nzema Maanle Council
We were honored to represent the voice of the youth of Ellembelle at the revered Council on 24th May 2025. We conveyed greetings from the young people of our communities—those filled with dreams, talents, and an unwavering desire to contribute meaningfully to the growth of Nzema—to the Nzema Maanle Council.
On behalf of the youth, we made the following appeals:
We acknowledged the wisdom, guidance, and cultural leadership the Council has provided over the years. The Nzema Maanle Council remains a pillar of tradition and a beacon of unity. We are proud of our roots and recognize that our culture and identity must form the foundation of our development.
Secondly, we called for greater collaboration between traditional leadership and youth-led initiatives:
“Our young people face numerous challenges—unemployment, lack of vocational training, migration, and limited access to modern opportunities. Yet, they also possess energy, creativity, and a desire to serve. With your support, we can channel these strengths into sustainable community development.”
Therefore, we respectfully requested:
- Representation of youth voices in key community dialogues and decision-making processes.
- Support for youth-led projects in agriculture, entrepreneurship, and digital skills.
- The revival of cultural and moral education programs to strengthen discipline and identity among our youth.
- Scholarship schemes and mentorship platforms for deserving students and young professionals.
We believe that when elders and youth walk together, no dream is too big. Nzema has the resources, the heritage, and the human capital to thrive—not just in Ghana, but on the global stage. Let us build a future where the wisdom of the elders and the energy of the youth work hand in hand.
May the ancestors guide our steps, and may Nzema rise.
