‘We’ll introduce short military training for NSS personnel’ – President Mahama

According to President John Mahama, his administration intends to provide National Service Scheme (NSS) employees with brief military training.

He clarified that the program seeks to inculcate a feeling of discipline and fitness among young people serving the nation during his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) of his second term on Thursday, February 27.

“We will introduce short military training as part of our National Service Scheme. This will instill a sense of fitness and discipline in our youth,” he stated.

Additionally, President Mahama said he had instructed security services to identify the culprits in the National Service Authority (NSA) ghost names case who were wanted as absconders.

He asserts that as governmental resources cannot be robbed without consequence, those involved in the scandal must be held responsible.

“Such brazen theft of public funds must be stopped and punished,” he emphasised, vowing that his government would ensure that justice is served.
