Richard Kings Atikpo, the leader of Legon Cities and the current member of the Council of State for the Oti Region, has been elected with a landslide victory, receiving 16 of the 18 votes cast.
Mr. Atikpo defeated seven other candidates, including Maxwell Quophy Blagoge, the former Deputy Minister for the Volta and Oti Regions. The Council of State is essential in advising the President of Ghana on issues of national importance, and Atikpo’s knowledge and perspectives will surely help the council’s efficacy.
The Oti Region views his retention as a step in the right direction because he provides stability and continuity to the council’s activities.
His leadership will be essential in overcoming upcoming obstacles and making sure that the public’s opinions are heard at the federal level.
