Northern Region: Alhaji Mumuni wins Council of State seat with 26 votes

The Northern Region’s representative on the Council of State, Alhaji Muhammad Mumuni, was elected with 26 of the 32 votes cast in the recently concluded election.

He asserted that he was dedicated to using his vast background in public service and government to properly represent the area.

“I have performed in many aspects of government. Right from Assemblymember to being a presiding member. I have served in two cabinets; in the Rawlings and Mills cabinets and I have been a running mate. I believe Northern Region could not make a mistake with the person they are sending.

“I have no doubt, that I will contribute my quota, experience, and my knowledge that I have gathered along the way to enhance the work of the Council of State in helping the president to administer this country. The reset agenda is truly on,” he stated.

Richard Andani Yakubu, Nyande Abdul Raqb, and Adam Hussein received 4, 2, and 0 votes, respectively, as the other contenders.
