In Karlo, a community in the Suaman District of the Western North Region, a 23-year-old lady named Akua Afriyie is being held by the police on suspicion of killing her 4-year-old son by tossing him into a well. Eric Armah, the Assembly Member for the Karlo Electoral Area, verified the unfortunate event.
Mr. Armah claims that he was contacted in concern about a child who had fallen into a well. He and a few locals hurried to the area and saw the young boy’s lifeless body floating in the water. The police were notified of the event right away.
A young woman came to the Dadieso Police Station and said her son had fallen into a well by accident.
But after further investigation, it was discovered that the woman was indeed the boy’s mother. According to eyewitness reports and preliminary police interrogation, she may have purposefully pushed the child into the well, which led to her later arrest.
The suspect is still being held by the Dadieso police. The child’s remains have now been placed in the morgue of the Enchi Government Hospital for autopsy and additional examination.
