2026 WCQ: Black Stars hold recovery training session in Morocco ahead of Madagascar clash

In preparation for their forthcoming 2026 World Cup qualifying match against Madagascar, the Black Stars conducted a recuperation training session in Morocco on Sunday, March 23, 2025. On Saturday, March 22, 2025, the team landed in Morocco after defeating Chad 5-0 on Friday.

Coach Otto Addo’s team jumped to the top of group I with the victory, and they will be looking to beat Madagascar to keep their standing.

Otto Addo expressed frustration over the scheduling of matches in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, noting that Madagascar had a more favourable schedule. Madagascar played their last match, a 4-1 victory over the Central African Republic, two days prior to Ghana’s game. “It’s worrying because also we need to travel. Madagascar is already in Morocco so for them it is much easier,” Coach Addo said.

Coach Addo recognized the significance of maintaining concentration in the face of the difficulties, saying, “I don’t know who is doing the schedule. There is nothing we can do. We have to accept it. It will be very tough. They Madagascar have a really good team, good victory against CAR so it will be very tough. Our preparations start now. It is good we won, and we can focus on Madagascar.”

Otto Addo will be hopeful that his team can overcome the obstacles presented by the competition and the schedule as the Black Stars attempt to build on their momentum from the victory over Chad. With the team’s preparations under way, Ghana’s goal is to defeat Madagascar by a significant margin and keep their lead in the group table.

Although the Black Stars will face a difficult opponent in Madagascar, Coach Addo’s team is committed to winning. Ghana is working hard to prepare for its upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifier, and they want to make a big impression.
