The Upper West Regional Police Command has secured a conviction against Adams Hamidu ( Gyida), aged 19. He has been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment with hard labor for robbery. The Wa Circuit Court, handed down the verdict on June 5, 2025.
In February 2025, Gyida and another masked individual robbed a victim of a blue Honda motorbike valued at GHC 20,000, a Tecno mobile phone valued at GHC 1,300, and cash amounting to GHC 10,800.
Through intelligence-led operations, Gyida was arrested on June 1, 2025, at Domowa, in the Wa-West District.
