Ghana’s top football clubs are set for another exciting showdown as the 2026 GHALCA Top 4 Tournament has been scheduled for August 26–30.
The prestigious pre-season competition, organised by the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), will feature four of the country’s biggest clubs — Medeama SC, Bibiani Gold Stars, Hearts of Oak and Dreams FC.
GHALCA Administrative Manager Nana Oduro Nyarko confirmed that preparations are ongoing for the tournament, with the final venue expected to be announced soon. The Accra Sports Stadium and the University of Ghana Sports Stadium (Legon) are currently being considered as potential venues.
The annual competition provides an ideal platform for participating clubs to assess their squads, integrate new signings and fine-tune their tactical approaches ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
Reigning champions Medeama SC, ambitious side Bibiani Gold Stars, traditional giants Hearts of Oak, and continental campaigners Dreams FC are expected to use the tournament to measure their readiness before the new league campaign kicks off.
The GHALCA Top 4 has over the years developed into one of Ghana’s most respected pre-season tournaments, producing memorable encounters while giving clubs the opportunity to compete for early silverware.
With four of the nation’s elite clubs involved, this year’s edition promises to deliver intense competition, quality football and a glimpse of what fans can expect in the upcoming season.
